When it's ready, latest news is it'll be out for Christmas, or next year, but God knows when it'll actually be out.

Wait for E3 starting 1st June. There should be a trailer/demo released or at least some news on the GT5 release.

God knows when. But if prologue isnt your cup of tea what makes you think the full game will

In the case of GT5 it's a shorter version of the game with less cars and tracks than the full game will have.

This is one of the main reasons why I bought a PS3, god I cant wait for this game!!

I see Play have pencilled in September 25th. Then again this could easily become 2010 pretty quickly.

PLAY Magazine stated December, but like other posters said it could easily slip into a 2010 release.

Also, why would you want GT5 if you don't like Prologue lol?

Wasnt it supposed to be one of the launch games with PS3?

I can't be too sure, but if there is any more delays, it will be one of the launch games with the PS4

If the delays are to make a better game then I am not too bothered.

Gran Turismo 6 is going to be an XBox 720 exclusive

Apparently Gran Turismo 4 Mobile for the PSP in development and has been delayed continuosly since 2005.

Got the latest issue of opm today and they are saying it will come out in december 2009. I'd say a late 2009 realease in japan and March/April 2010 for everywhere else.

GT4M was supposed to be a direct port from PS2 to PSP, and was supposed to be a PSP launch title afaik.

the prologue game was quite good. amazing graphics, sense of really driving, great engine sounds etc.

how long should it take to to polish it more and add more cars/tracks, game mechanics etc??? it would sell a lot based on the prologue success.

i'm guessing it's the crash damage that is causing the delay. they said they wouldn't bring it out until the damage was realistic. must be harder to do then they thought?

I would like to recommend this post as the single greatest reply to Retr0 ever. lol

Anyway, the latest rumours I read on NeoGAF can be found: here

    In summary:
    1. Worldwide release within the next 12 months, possibly 1 Dec, 2009.
    2. 600+ cars, 96 tracks with remakes from GT4.
    3. Track editor splicing tracks from existing tracks.
    4. Voice chat, party mode, clan suport.
    5. Two release versions, one SKU where you pay more money, allowing you free excess to all future vehicle DLCs and another SKU which you have the option to purchase DLC in the normal way.

I've never even played dungeons and dragons and even hate the dungeons and dragons based games like knights of the old republic :'(

I was happy that my usual gran turismo troll post still gets a response. Now to see if Football Manager = Football for Excel still works.

I'm going to go cry in the corner.

I still play GT4 atleast twice a week, greatest racing game ever in terms of realism. Nothing comes close

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,933 ✭✭✭Sniipe

    I still play GT5 prologue

Apparently they will have a full crash damage built into GT5?

Outstanding game. I played loads of it back a few years. I had the official steering wheel as well. Class.

GT5 could be upto 2 years away yet, it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm looking forward to this. The prologue was fairly decent when it was updated but not enough in it to warrant the original price tag tbh.

Been up on eurogamer for a while, bloody impressive stuff.

Anyone have any idea what the "full licencing" on NASCAR means? Full race series with all tracks and drivers? I doubt it, but I can dream. :P

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,410 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I wouldn't say they will get the drivers but at the very least all the tracks and maybe a full season mode.

Anyway aren't all Daytona tracks the same oval anyway :P

Well it's meant to be "fully licenced".

And yeah, Daytona is almost three miles, Talladega is 2.66, then a load around 1.5 miles, some at 1 and others less. There's a lot of variation, and since it's Gran Turismo we're talking about hopefully they'll make it difficult to set the cars up properly.

Hopefully they wont have the drivers, that can age a game terribly. GT isnt concerned with who is in the car anyway!

Forza 2 is far more realistic than gt4, and gt5 prologue.

But the discussion is about the full GT5 game which to be fair is going to blow Forza out of the water.

Prologue is a glorified demo disc anyway there does not need to be an arguement now...lets just wait and see just how epic GT5 will is, then come at us with your Forza nonsense

That's not what you said the first time. Troll horse?? WTF

Like I said, we're not talking about GT5 Prologue which was really just an over elaborate demo.

We're talking about the full game.
    Have a look

    GT5:

I don't base my opinions on games purely on graphics, if so GT5 would be the greatest game ever. :P The lad in charge of development says they're constantly changing the Prologue, so the physics must be close to finished at this point, if not a while back.
I hope they do something about the physics, though I have a feeling that playing the game without vibration, as I have done, is a large part of why the handling feels so numb and traction breaks before you know you're near the limit.
Plus if NASCAR is licenced I'll get months of gameplay out of it, further justifying my buying a steering wheel. :P
