remote play over internet

it just wont work. iv tried everything ! it works over private network like a charm but not over internet. iv set the ports correctly as far as i can tell but no joy. it just gets a ''connection error has occured'' after i log onto the psn page. it says this may take 90 seconds and then boom nada. any advice?
