Does anyone else think this lark of testing a car on on it's anniversary is a bit of a scam? The idea of back dating the test to the month of it's registration is a joke, how come with commercial vehicles you test it on any day and you have a years test on it from that day, this method makes a lot of sense to me, what do the rest of ye think?

The anniversery thing avoids confusion. Very important when you can't cope with confusion

What confuses me is the fact that you buy a car with no test, book it in for one to find there's only a month left for it to be tested again, meanwhile you either get it tested or park it up for a month, sounds like a scam to me.

Before the all backlogs and resulting confusion began which they could not cope with, you were able to get a car tested 2 - 3 months in advance of its due date. You still can AFAIK - theoretically.
