The folks had some building work done recently resulting in external telephone cabling not being reconnected. Rang Eircom first thing monday morning and they've yet to come back to them to arrange for someone to call out. .

Is this sort of delay normal? What's the best course of action at this stage? Thanks

Did Eircom disconnect the cabling or did someone else? If Eircom keep chasing them, but it could be a long time. At least it's free to call and wait to find out. There have been people on here waiting months, and sometimes longer, to get connected.

If someone else disconnected the cables then it's nothing to do with Eircom and you need to chase up with whoever disconnected the cable.

Is Eircom their phone service provider? If not you have to contact their service provider, who then have to chase Eircom to send someone out. Which leads to even more delays.

And 4 days isn't really getting the run around, yet, as they still haven't contacted you.

Call daily, but the std msg you get is 4 days.

If its not your fault then don't forget to call up for a rebate forgot what it is exactly and the qualifying period but afaik if your off more then 2 working days you can claim the line rental back but you don't get it without asking.
