Blueface + phone help ?

I have an issue where sometimes when the BB goes down for a min or so I have to lift the phone which makes a noise as if I have left it off the hook. I then replace the receiver and it resets itself to normal. My set up is a Netgear ATA router bought from Blueface and then a normal house phone plugged into the back.

Do I need to change the normal house phone for a dedicated Voip phone? If the BB goes off will a Voip phone automatically connect.

Sometimes I miss calls as someone calling me gets a busy tone until I lift the receiver and put it down again to reset it. Its just that I dont always notice it.

Any help appreciated.
