I worked for a full year before starting college 2 years ago. since then I worked for the same company some weekends, during college holidays and full time during the summer. However this summer the company can only offer me 1 or 2 days a week.

I went to the dole office and it sounded like i was entitled to 160euro p/w (I still live with parents) but then when I told him I only worked 1 day every weekend while I was at college he said I would not be entitled to anything as you had to be able to prove that you income has decreased over the previous 13 weeks. He called someone down from "upstairs" to explain more. i explained that I couldn't have worked more while I was at college but I was still experiencing a huge loss as I had full time work last year which I saved to put me through college and will only have a day or two a week this year. I now have a form to give my employer to detail what I earned over the previous 52 weeks as I may then be entitled to something.

Has anyone ever had an experience like this and what was the outcome? Do you think she was just giving me false hope? Do they not have access to info on the hours you have worked anyway?
