From the pic it doesn't look like this is compatible with the remote covers? i.e. you'd have to take them off each time you wanted to dock them?

    Yay or nay?

I got one and I'm not impressed! You have to take the remote covers off, which isn't a problem for me.

There is a light on the front of the charger that turns red to show that the remote is charging. For some reason, mine stopped working, and I can never get the light to turn red, hence I can't charge the remotes.

I believe the two wire points are making contact, but there is no way to be sure.

Hmm, I wonder if its possible to get a solar remote charger. It may take a while to fully charge, but I hardly use my wii anyway. I have it four months and played it about ten times.

If you bought it recently would you not return if for a refund or replacement (whatever applies!!)

It worked fine for the first month, or at least I didn't notice the problems as I didn't use the Wii much. The fact that I'm lazy doesn't help either. But I guess its possible to buy another one, and see if they will take the faulty one back or something like that. Does the 16 day money back apply to Wii accessories, because it didn't apply to the Wii when I bought it!

    Got this from their site:

If there's a fault with the product?

    We've made it easier!

    * If you bring it back to us within 30 days with your proof of purchase*, we'll give you a replacement or a refund.
    * If you've had the product for up to 1 year, we'll repair it or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund.
    * Please note that all large kitchen appliances are excluded from our 30 day moneyback guarantee, but if your item develops a fault within 30 days call us on 0044 845 6400800 and one of our advisors will assist you with your problem. If faulty and if it cannot be repaired we will arrange a replacement free of charge or you can opt for a refund.
    * This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

*If you had your item delivered your order number counts as your receipt/proof of purchase

I know someone who boought a cappichino maker(was on offer at the time) she used it once when she first got it but then didnt use it for about 2 month(as is the way with these gadgets!), when she went to use it again it wouldnt work, so she decided to return it.
She couldnt find the receipt so she bought another one, which by now had gone up to full price, then a couple of days later she put the old one in the box and returned it with the receipt and got her money back!!
I am in no way condoning this behaviour might i add!!!

That's what I was thinking, but didn't want to say it here, just incase its againist the rules! But I would never do anything like that anyway!

This was the reason for my question regarding returns on Wii accessories. They don't allow returns on Wiis. I'm guessing a lot of people (like myself) buy the Wii, played with it for a week or two and notice they are not get much use out of it.

    Firstly, it's now 30 day, not 16.
Secondly, it doesn't apply to video games, you're right.
Thirdly, it only applies if you've changed your mind and not used the item, you still have a year's guarantee if it's actually broken, as in this case. You'll get a replacement.

nice one OP. My brother just got a Wii there for his birthday the other day so I'm def going to get this. Just reserved on there to collect tomorrow. It will be a little annoying having to take off the covers each time but its worth it for the money saved on batteries.

On a related note if anyones thinking of getting a Wii fit, Smyths are giving a free rechargheable battery pack when u buy the Wii Fit. Save yourself €15. I just picked it up today :)
