Should Irish Entrepreneurs Start Their Businesses in Eastern Europe?

The cash burn rate of Irish start-ups is through the roof. Particularly for Internet based start-ups, countries like Poland may be ideal for start-ups because the cash burn is much smaller. Therefore, the chances of success are increased. You can do more with less.

Think about how far €10K would go in Ireland as compared to Poland?

Do you think it's a good idea for Irish entrepreneurs to move to Warsaw or Gdansk and start their businesses there?

That would completely depend on the business and the product. After all you can hire people anywhere in the world to work in an internet business.

Making a move just to cut costs seems silly if your aimed at the Irish market for example because you still need to get out there and meet people.

No. Because the number one objective at the beginning is to maximize the uptake, revenue and eventual profitability rather than minimise the burn rate.

What makes no sense is to open an Internet business oriented at the Irish market. It is ultimately a hiding-to-nothing. The market is very small.

Absolute nonsense, and if thats your best assessment of the business environment, you'd be better to go on a holiday. Mind you € 10k wouldn't go far!
