Got Highlights, don't like them :-(

    Hi all,

Got my hair cut and a fringe and highlights at the weekend as I was going a little bit grey and now I don't like the highlights, they seem to have gone a funny yellowish colour and look almost dirty if that makes sense.

Can I just get a colour and dye over them like a loreal or something ? Also I seem to have roots straight away - there's nothing I can quite put my finger on, I just don't like them.

I used to my hair highlighted so know what to expect and went to the same hair dresser - its just a bit ugh !

    Rgds

My guess is that they did a terrible job! It shouldnt look yellowish or dirty, and you most definitely should not have roots already!

This happened to me a few years ago so I went back to the salon and complained. they fixed me up afterwards and apologised.

I wouldnt pay all that money and settle for a sloppy job tbh, If I were you id be going back too

Yes, you can colour over highlights. I did that. However, I would kick up a fuss over what you've ended up with. Doesn't sound right.

When I didn't like my highlights, they offered to do them again so I was happy. Give the hairdressers a ring and see if they can help you out. A satisified customer is a returning customer.

Definately complain it sounds like an awful botch job!
Make sure they dont charge you to do it again!
They may have just been rushing and thats why they came out wrong but why should you have to suffer?
I get highlights and sometimes i find they can go orangey due to limey water so i use john frieda sheer blonde and it really helps but is a little pricey about 8.50 for a bottle...
But i wud still tell you to go back to the hairdresser to begin with!!
