Eley Match EPS (if it's a black box it's probably Match EPS) is pretty close to the top of the line. Eley only make a single grade higher than that, Tenex EPS, which is used by a lot of the shooters on the line in the Olympics. Match should happily outshoot pretty much anyone in Ireland (with possible exceptions for nine or ten people).

I appreciate you not mentioning me by name, humility is key I find. :D

Great ammo, very consistent. Never had cause to doubt where the hole was in the paper with it and having shot Tenex, I am nowhere near the level to tell you the difference.

Maybe not my place to say this but
you also need the gun to use them.

I have shot them in my humble little CZ Style and they didn't perform any better than the Eley Sport subs (except you didn't get the one or two flyers).

That's actually what you're paying for when you buy the Match or Tenex stuff clive - in a match where hitting the nine ring once in sixty shots can drop you from first place, one or two fliers can ruin your entire day.

Yep. I've shot fantastic groups with Eley Sport, but it will never be my go-to stuff to do it (only did it because we were out of good ammo and it was that or no training, and it worked fine).

I was at the range shooting at the target they use in comp. you know 25 single targets and 5 practice. Just shooting for fun and doing well until the last shot - a flyer. The swearing started then.

Anyway my top score so far with my CZ Style 22lr in comp. is 226, including 3 X10's

and no I don't want to hear how well you can all do :P

I have always found Lapua Master to be unbeatable

I've a few hundred rounds in the safe at home. Still haven't tried it.

Bunny, Lapua re-badged their whole line last year. Master is gone. They're still making fantastic stuff, but, predictably, the re-badging covered up a price hike. Their top-end stuff is now 40c a round, and that's in Switzerland, so possibly even more here. That's getting towards fullbore prices!

That said, if you can get your hands on any leftover stocks of Master, buy away (and maybe tell me where :p).

    It's all gone :(

I never knew they re-badged their stuff :(

We had a thread about it here at the time. And predictably, it did go up in price. For slightly more money, get yourself a brick of the Centre-X stuff. Seems to be their re-badged, price-hiked Master product, and it's exceptionally good. Probably a chunk better than Master. Then, when you get it, taunt IRLConor by not telling him the dealer. :p

Connor, one of my regular dealers has this Lapua Centre X stuff :P €10.50 per box, €10ish per box if 1,000 bought ;)

    Going to get some tomorrow

To the poster who PM'd me with concerns that I am advocating or that I personally would or that I am insinuating that a RFD would, break the law regarding licence limits, I would like to confirn that I will be buying some tomorrow within my licence limits :p

Lapua didn't rebadge their ammo. Some years ago, they bought SK in Germany and have been producing ammo from there as well as from Finland. The problem is that the cost of shipping from Finland is far higher than from Germany so the importers here are sourcing all their ammo from SK.

It's not just the cost, seemingly the paperwork to go overland from Finland is frightening and air freight is horrendously expensive. So it's cheaper to get the stuff from Germany.

The last lot of Master I bought grouped very well; partly luck that the rifle liked it but it did a 21.1mm 40 shot group at Eley. Didn't shoot a nine in those 40 shots, admittedly a lot of 10.0's

The Tenex I have won't shoot worse than 10.2, unfortunately I will :D

I dont seem to have any problems with the Eley Match rounds. Havent fired many yet but havent had any fliers either.

Seem to be a good round even in a CZ Brno .22, with a free sloating barell and cheap (yet clear) scope.

    Hope that helps Bud;)

Yea your right ,i taught it was the rounds that did not suit the CZ ,but it was my scope .Only put it on to try the eley match but had to click the turrets up near max to zero at 50 yards .It did not make sence that the eley was grouping half" at 50.Set the scope at 70 yards and get a4" group ?.So i rang around and found out that the scope was not suited for the low flights of the .22 rounds. So i reset the scope half way on the turret and held up and to my suprise i started getting half" groups again with the eley match at 70 yards.:).Very sweet round and IMO the best ive shoot through the CZ.What CZ have you got ,bud?

Ive a CZ Silhouette, did some work to the stock and removed the front bolt tht holds the stock in place, now the stock doesnt touch from the beginning of the barell fowards.

Just need to lighten up my trigger now as its still at standard weight, you would nearly think they safety is on at times its that heavy of a pull.

I have the same CZ and free floated with the front bolt remowed .My trigger is now well under a LB .Shoot much better with the trigger lightend.
