Finished college - JA which forms?

Finished college last week. Was one year postgrad course. Would like to try and claim JA if possible while seeking employment. Was on JB until about Sept last year. Does anyone know what form I need to fill out ie. do I make a new claim for JA or a 'Repeat Claim' except claim JA? Also what else do I need to bring to SW office ie. ID, proof of address etc. Was not working either while in college, I'm 28 and living at home.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Just in case anyone is in similar position and wants to know what forms you need, here's what I have to bring:
    • Jobseekers Allowance/Benefit Form UP 1
    • Jobseeker's Allowance Means Test Form UP 1b
    • Passport/Driving Licence
    • Proof of Address (Utility Bill etc)
    • Letter from College saying I am finished.
One thing I'm wondering though, is that since I'm 28 do I need to fill out my parents income in the Means Test Form. As far as I'm aware, I don't need to. Sister lives at home too so do I include her earnings? If anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate it.

It should say on the form that you only need to fill out the income of your parents if you're under 25 (so no, you don't need to)

Thanks for coming back and letting people know - there's a lot in your situation.

Did you have any trouble getting the letter from the college? Are your results out or are you just finished exams? I'm finished my exams since yesterday but I'm not sure when you're considered a non-student?

I was able to go the student affairs office in my college (IADT) and get a letter straight away today. I think as long as you're finished your academic activity in the college you're no longer a student (Even though you may still be officially registered there.) For instance my letter says I'm finished on the 11th June because that's when my design exhibition ends. I have no idea of my results or anything, It doesn't seem to matter.

I will be moving into a new flat and away from home on my own,

In this instance I assume I will not need to bring my parents income statements, but it will take me a while to find a flat etc. can this be backdated?
