Jobseekers Benefit UP11

Hi I know this is a stupid question but I hope someone can answer it easily.

I am self employed but work is very slow almost non-existant.

I went to my social welfare office to ask what I should do and they told me to stay registered as self employed and claim jobseekers benefit for the days I don't get work.

They were very helpful and quick they posted me out 4 white forms, 1 for each of the next four weeks, which I was to fill out and post in at the end of every week.

All very simple. I filled in the forms and posted them in and got a cheque the following week for the days I had claimed.

Last week in the post I received a UP11 form which seems to be the same thing. I fill it out declairing the days I have no work.

I filled out this UP11 form and posted it as I had done with the previous white forms but this week I got no cheque only another UP11 with the same dates as previous UP11 I had received.

Am I supposed to go to my post office or social welfare office in person with this UP11 to claim my benefit.

There are no instructions with this form and I don't want to annoy them in the welfare office with stupid questions as they are really busy.

Does it have to have an employers stamp or something on it?

i Think thats the form you bring to your post office for payment, bring your social welfare PPS card with you.... i'm going to try that for the first time today.... good luck. The post office would be the one you nominated for payment when registering for jobseekers benifit. If you didn't nominate a post office then go back to social services office to set it up. I will let you know how i get on.

OK, the guy at the post office said you send that back to the social welfare office, if you get a day's work, put it in on the bottom line and tick the no box, then you get the allowance for the day's you had no work.

To get your payment go to your post office, they swipe your SW Card and hay presto! they give you the money.

It's mad how the country is gone...
