Hmm, five Ospreys is a bit much. Can't help but get the feeling that a lot of the votes were based on H Cup and 6 Nations rather than just the Magners, I mean 3 Blues and no Edinburgh?!

wat a joke of a team.
rtd is right that team is based on the six nations. and h cup fionn carr and earls are the top two try scorers in the league.
has bod played that good in this years league. i dont think he even layed that many games. he been a great player this year.
    who picks this team?

How anyone can say thats a good selection and they agree with it is beyond me, its about as relevant to the Magners league as the feckin Hurling allstars, the amount of players there on form in other competitions and reputation is a joke.

I actually havent seen too much of Connaught in this years league to comment on Carr, his record is quite impressive considering the teams results, but I would definitely agree that Warick and Earls deserve their places on that team.

Paul O'Connell? FFS, for once Mick O'Driscoll deserves it. :pac:

That's not a ML dream team, that's a dream team of the best players in Wales and Ireland.

The only Ospreys player I would say that doesn't deserve to be there maybe is Phillips as Blair was probably better in the Magners. As for BOD unless you are planning on excluding internationals and first choice players from contention on the grounds of Magners games missed, he is the form player in the NH and that has transfered to the Magners games he has played IMO

bod played a frw games in the magners league
this is the meant to be the magners team of the year so on merit he doesnt deserve his spot on the team. i think he been class this year just not in the magners.

Mike Blair played very well against Leinster recently enough. His team finished second. He's not there.

Paterson? De Luca? Cairns? Are none of them good enough?

Keith Earls should be in there. Etc.

Max Evans was better in the ML than BOD, considering how much he played and the effect he had on Glasgow.

Thom Evans and Carr should be there too, imo.

I don't recall, but was this voted for by fans last year or just the media? I think the latter would make for a better team, as in public votes people tend to just vote for who they think are the best players regardless of what the did in that competition.

Some ridiculous picks in there including BOD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,706 ✭✭✭premierstone

In fairness Martyn Williams is the most comical of the lot - he played 4 games out of 18 in the magners, lol its nearly as laughable as Ryan Giggs been voted player of the season!

That team is a ****ing joke.

    My choice:

    1. Gethin Jenkins
    2. Jerry Flannery
    3. Adam Jones
    4. Mick O' Driscoll
    5. Alun Wyn Jones
    6. Rocky Elsom
    7. Niall Ronan
    8. Jamie Heaslip

    9. Mike Blair
    10. ROG
    11. Thom Evans
    12. Lifeimi Mafi
    13. Keith Earls
    14. Fionn Carr
    15. Paul Warwick

    7 Munster
    2 Leinster
    2 Ospreys
    1 Connacht
    1 Glasgow
    1 Cardiff
    1 Edinburgh

I think that's a better/fairer team. What do ye think??

I'd agree, would believe it or not coming from a Leinster supporter give it to Wallace or Ronan... has had a few good games and a few tries this year for munster.

Think O'Leary would be a more deserving 9 too.

Paterson should be in there too... and Warick has probably been Munsters best player this season

Thom Evans should have been included alright. That team is far from being based exclusively on the magners league. The guinness premiership dream team, which was fairly good, was based exclusively on the guinness premiership.

Going on all competitions its not the worst team. Its a bit hard to just go on magners league performances as the best players tend to miss a good proportion of games. It was voted by the public as well.

    agreed wit selection also

I would be of the opinion that the players who miss those games should rightly be left out of the Dream Team.

I'd say the team above is far better... Even if it's a little biased in favour of Munster in certain places!

    11. Thom Evans
    12. Lifeimi Mafi
    13. Keith Earls
    14. Fionn Carr
    15. Paul Warwick

    7 Munster
    2 Leinster

    1 Connacht
    1 Glasgow
    1 Cardiff
    1 Edinburgh

Makes more sense than the one they have tbh. Much better than their one.

Might throw in Stan Wright tbh though, played almost every game, and needs a few more Embra lads. ^^

Terrible selection imo. It really should be packed with Munster players who played a large part in winning the ML.

I'd put Ali Hogg in there to be honest. He's been a rock for edinburgh in the ml.

Agree that it's probably not really the best team based only on Magners league but you have to say it's a pretty mean team!!

I only realised now that Edinburgh finished second! Fair play to them!

Would take out MOD and put in Quinlan..... surprised nobody thought to put in a guy who's magners league appearances were a huge part of getting selected for Lions tour

TOL at 9 too and Warwick at 10 with Paterson at 15, he won Edinburgh so many points but couldnt not have Warwick in the team and he did play half his ML games at 10 so far move in my opinion

Oh and with would be a close call omitting Fitzgerald

You'd take out Rocky Elsom? For Alan Quinlan?

You'd take out Rocky Elsom? For Alan Quinlan?

    GOD NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rocky is the player of the year in my opinion in all of world rugby

Quinlan played a good few games in the 2nd row this season even god man of the match a couple of times with 5 on his back so I would take out Mick O'Driscoll as I think Quinlan gave more to the champions campaign
