    Hi,
I am in my sisters in Italy for 1 week, she has an ISDN box and i am have connected a Sitecom 300N wireless Modem Router to the ISDN box via an ethernet cable. i then logged into the wireless box, ran threw the wizard which basically let me change the country to Italy and service provider to Tisicali, i think entered her username and password(which has been checked with support) i have checked that NAT is on. i can connect to the box with her laptop wirelessly no problem, i just cant get it on the net, and it is kind of hard as she rings support i have to ask her to ask them questions in italian. I have also put in several DNS settings in the wireless connecting on xp. which they asked me to try.

    thanks.

The router wouldn't normally be the one with the username and password, unless you've bridged the modem.

You need a router with an RJ45 WAN port most likely, routing will be the issue.

You needed a plain router, not one with a modem installed ideally. I don't know the firmware on Sitecom, so I don't know if it's possible to disable the modem functionality enough or use one of the LAN ports as a WAN port.

What is the model number of the ISDN box just out of curiosity.

You need to establish if indeed routing is the issue, as the modem will try to route through the RJ11 then I would hazard a guess that therein lies the issue.

How do they normally get on the net? Using a wired Ehternet connection? If so then yes, just change the modem for an RJ45 WAN router version.

threw rj-11/usb connector. i tried to get an access point at the start, but the shop i got them in i think they only have modem routers:(

what exactly do you mean by wan router? does it actually say WAN instead of Lan on the connectors? or does it just say Wan capabilites on the box

Plain routers usually have an RJ-45 WAN connection, and 4 LAN connectors.

The WAN port is the port through which the router or router/modem accesses the Internet, on a modem that port is an RJ11 (telephone) socket on a plain router it is an RJ45 (Ethernet) socket.

You might need an Annex B modem but I am in the dark here as never had to use one, it looks the exact same as the one you have but is designed to use ISDN instead of ADSL, the one you have is an Annex A model. TBH I have not seen this type of setup too often and not in a long time so I am not going to lead you astray.
