    Hi all

    Very basic question: Could someone please tell me how long term loans have been in existence in Ireland(and the UK if you know) ??

    A term loan
    Well thats just the lenght of time you took out for the loan
    Any loan is a term loan i.e. 1 year to ....

    As person when they took it out
    How long was it for
    When they starting paying loan etc

    Pretty much since Banking began, they are the basic core product that created banks in the first place.

    I asked my folks and they advised that they were definitely around back in the early 70's. Don't know if this is any use to you. I would suggest that you ask the Irish Bankers Federation for a definitive answer.

    They would have been around in the 1770's as well.
