    This website http://www.votematch.eu/votematches/VoteMatch2009/English/index.html allows you to check your views against the EU parties and see who you should vote for - because, after all, there's no point in voting based on Irish party preference, cos all our MEPs become tiny cogs in a big wheel once they reach the big smoke.

    Labour are part of PES
    Fine Gael - EPP
    FF - ALDE
    Sinn Féin - GUE/NGL
    Green - Verts/ALE

    I got the European People's Party which is in line with what I thought (Fine Gael). Interesting link, btw.

    yeah well i knew labour were alligned with PES ages ago :p

    i think voter turnout across eu would be bigger and create more interest if they actually made people aware of these different groups.
