Is there such a thing? i go to swimming pools here but they all full of kids who do a fine job of colouring the water yellow. is there a pool that only allows groan ups for whom the novelty of pissing in the water has worn off?

+1 to admiral....also think they can put a chemical in the water now that turns the pee a vibrant shade that will alert one to the culprit.

Not if they keep groaning there's not.

Go for a swim in the Liffey, haven't seen too many kids in there lately. But piss is still a problem.

For someone who learned to swim before I could walk, and worked/ran pools/coached, let me just say that 'piss' is the least of your worries when swimming in a public pool.

The fecal matter contents (from people inability to properly clean their backsides) is generally much higher than the urine content.

Keep that in mind the next time you see a group of people who were on the black stuff the night before.

    Where is here?

There could be one in Mayo, but not much use of you are in Waterford.

I'm kinda thinking Dublin forum tbh.

I'd say a private gym with a swimming pool would be your best bet, or most swimming pools will do "Adults Only" swims at some point during the week

Eh, don't alot of pools have a time limit thing on kids? Like no kids after a certain time in the evening?

Other than that I found that 'Members Only' clubs such as Westwood tend to have less kids in them public pools and leisure centres with both memberships and pay per visit tariffs.

Granted Westwood is expensive, it was €50/month for students and €70+/month for adults but the facilities are excellent and you have access to the all three WW clubs including the one with the salt-water pool in Sandymouth.

I'm not sure, but I think you might be able to get a trial membership there just to try the places out

yeah join a private gym with a pool or buy a thick wetsuit and swim in the sea! Seriously a 5mm suit will keep you warm year round :D

Always wondered if the anti-piss chemical was an urban myth. Surely with the amount of kids in pools, I would have seen a tell-tale sign more than once, but never have.

Crunch Fitness in Dun Laoghaire, or the Royal Marine hotel.

Crunch is adults only and the RM Hotel has limited kids swimming times.

Or, get your kit off and head down to Sandycove and join the Sandycove Bathers. They swim every day of the year and although most are knocking on a bit, they don't look too bad for it.

OP pretty sure the leisure centre in Navan has a time limit on kids. ;)

Agree. I think it's a myth. Sure the way Ireland is now, the parents would probably sue for their childs embarassment and lifelong mental scarring

The most obvious answer is always staring your butler in the face, isn't it? Just yesterday Jeeves found an ingenious way to clean a dirty house. Buy a new one!

Not to mention dead donkeys, shopping trolleys, cones, and who knows what else. I wouldn't get in there without a biohazard suit.

The amount of adults I see entering the swimming pool without showering in the leisure centre I use is a fúckin disgrace - I don't want to swim in your filthy bath water  - same thing with the jacuzzi - fúckers go straight from the steam room into the jacuzzi - ignorant knóbs the lot of 'em.

My wife is a fitness instructor at a club. The stories that that she tells about their jacuzzi would turn you white.

If you pass out vitamins before the swim, it would be easier to catch the phantom pissers in the act.

Michael Barrymore has an awesome pool, you have to be a consenting male aged 18 - 45 to get in it though

I think swimming pools should be like prison.
You enter reception, are stripped butt naked, hit with stinging white powder, hosed down with a 2 bar power washer, then off you go.

    Prison ??

That sounds like washing up for dinner in my house.
