    Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it a relative of Sawyer's who told him not to finish the letter rather than Jacob?

    I'm pretty sure what Jacob actually says is..."If it only ends once, everything else is just progress." And not as stated "It can only end once."

    Didn't catch the whole 'candidate' thing for Lapidus. It would be interesting alright, if Jacob took the form of somebody else IF he was to die.
