Just out of interest, what are people's recent experiences of dole waiting times? Have they gone down in recent weeks, as there *seems* to be slightly less lay offs in recent times?

Stamps for JSB ran out this week when i was in to apply for JSA today was told not lonf when asking how long, "quickly if you get the stuff you need".

Have a friends who is claiming in another office and is waiting 6 weeks so far so i guess it depends on the area.

Seven weeks since I applied for Jobseeker's Allowance. Haven't heard a thing since.

It depends on your office and your claim. I have a friend who was waiting 2 weeks in Cobh, another was waiting 7 weeks in Cork - they signed on the same day. JSA would probably take longer I guess.

If you have not had any comminique with them, I suggest you ring them and ask them was there some problem with your application, i.e. had anything been left out, omitted etc. Thats what I am going do in one week, ring them and ask them is it just a backlog {which I have no problem with} or if its maybe something else. I genuinely dont have a problem with the wait, and who knows what might come up in the meantime, but if there is a mixup I would be wanting to get it sorted as fast as possible. I still think my application for JSA went too smoothly for some reason.

Zombie thread - there is a sticky re: waiting times.
If you are waiting for payment, you can apply to CWO for supplementary welfare allowance.
    Thread locked.
