So, Im thinking about nice analog console possibly the TL M4 or even a decent secondhand desk, dont really wanna pass the 10k mark....

I like the M4 due it being quite compact too and well designed?

Ive got 2 Yamaha small digi desks strapped together at the mo and just want a change.....

Any thoughts guys? maybe point me down another route?

    Thanks

    Ed

    i really like tlAudio desks.

Used an M4 once, but really liked it. Nicely coloured sound. Not to sound too much like a twat here but I really liked the vibe out of it. Soundwise, lookswise and the feel.
If I was planning on going OTB soon, I'd go with the M4 or one of the Toft ATB's (although I was fairly underwhelmed by the atb when i finally heard it).

Mightn't be everyone's cup of tea though.

I'd reccomend you have a listen to one at length first. I've not heard it myself but it's been described to me by an engineer of note for whom I'd have great respect as 'fools gold' ...

I remember reading an article that the thing had a really, really good summing buss, some guy using it for classical recordings. I'd also say it's very colored sounding.

I'd say it depends on exactly what you are going to use it for. Tracking or Mixing primarily.

I'd say for tracking, it might be a little over the top sounding. These things are hugely subjective though.

I am saving up for a new desk and I am on a similiar budget. I also have been thinking about what desk I actualy want. I have the this TL product
    http://www.dv247.com/invt/7759/

Compared to Neve as far as sonic quality/characteristic there is no comparison so it really is just a nice fat sweet EQ in my eyes. Maybe I need to spend more time with making adjustements on it but thats the thing I don't like it, tis finnicky:(

As with regards with the M4 it certainly is one of my options, I have a few questions about it though. Is there a metre bridge available? Do I plug this into my 002 via optical lead just like my focusrite octopre? It would be nice to have a tube desk full of beef I would like to see one in action, any takers?
