    Mazda B3 1324cc engine 14 years old.

The car is very sluggish accelerating at speed and don't like hills as much as it used to. If you accelerate you get an initial boost and then it gives up the ghost. So put it through the NCT today and the idle speeds were more than 10% out.

    Lambda is 1.339

The tester told me that it was probably sucking in air somewhere and that she checked the exhaust and it seemed fine, any quick checks before I send it down to the garage ?

Low idle is lower than last time 890 vs 990 rpm
High idle is higher than last time 2680 vs. 2610 rpm

The engine was hotter than last time too 97 vs 66

The air leak theory sounds plausible. If air is getting in where it shouldn't then the mixture will be too rich. Take a look at the intake system. Spray some WD40 at any area where you think there's a leak. If there is a leak then the engine speed will increase as the WD40 is sucked in and burns. Go easy on the spray as too much may damage the cat.
