A family meber who owns a business got a phonecall from google. They wanted her to pay for google adwords. She didnt know anything about it as she never uses the internet so she gave the phone to me. The guy on the phone was nice enough but he was trying to get us to buy google adwords. We dont have a website so he told me to go onto regisiter 365. He tried to give me the impression that he was saving me money by me getting a website from 365 rather than google. Nothing wrong with any of these they are just sales technigues. But then he said that in our our county in the last 5 days thousands of people were looking up our type of business. Is there any way of veryifing this? and has anyone any experience of google adwords?

I think you maybe right. I thought it was a bit suspicious they way he said he was a director with Google.:rolleyes: i thought maybe he was just desperate for a sale.


I put their phone number into google and it came up up in http://www.phonespamfilter.co.uk/phones.php/01618324
as phone spam

The fact that he said he worked for google...isnt that sort of fraud?

I think the form of words is "working on behalf of google"

I've had a couple of calls recently from friends that are getting emails from people trying to sell google adwords, its just one of those things where if you know nothing there's a middle man prepared to rip you off.
