Getting apps on Iphone O2 prepay

I'm using a prepaid iPhone and want to download some free apps.

When I try to install them it asks for 'account information'? I've tried putting in my own app store login information without success.

I've asked the person i got the phone off about any login or password info and he did not get anything on buying the phone.

Any ideas what info I need to get some apps downloaded?

Is your itunes account setup and logged into on the pc?
I think when you connect an iphone to a pc its sync with that pc's itunes account info as long as its logged in.

so that might fix the issue.

The iphone was synced with my brothers comp, he tells me he does not have an itunes login. I've tried synching with my own laptop and if i do then its gonna wipe all the existing apps on the iphone which I dont really want to do..

well just try plugging it into your own pc when logged into itunes it might work without syncing the iphone.

Otherwise go to your brothers pc and log into itunes there and then do a quick sync and it should pick it up.

Got it sorted - he did have an itunes account but had not activated it for downloading apps.

Still, its a bit rubbish that the iphone can only synch with one computer.

there are a few things you can do but i have been too lazy to try them and I really only need to sync with one pc the other i just want to leech power.
