    Hi
I need some help with my running training and it'd be great if anybody was interested in the following:

One or two sessions per week consisting of track work on a 400m track.

    Will be doing 1600m x 6 @ 6min/mile pace with 1minute recovery.

That'll be the first two weeks. Then the plan would be to crank up the pace and do:

    1600m x 6 @ 5mins 50secs/mile pace with 1 min recovery

Do this for 2 or 3weeks then

    1600m x 6 @ 5mins 40/mile pace with 1min recovery

    and so on.

The plan is to get up to a standard were we're knocking out sessions of 5:20s or even 5:10s per mile and doing 8-10 mile intervals. That would be a great standard to achieve and if you could do that you could be fearless in any race. I realise that this is very hard training and even in my running club ive had no takers, but I think it would be top class training.

Anybody interested? Im in the tallaght area and have access to a track. Let me know if anybody is interested.
    Cheers

Bloody tough workouts there....far too fast for myself at the moment;)

The jumps seem pretty big though....I imagine it would be very hard to go from 1600x6 @6 min pace to 1600x6 at 5.50 min pace after 2-4 sessions unless you find the first session at 6 min pace very comfortable.

I have found the only way to be knocking out five minute miles in a race is to train hard, race consitantly and of course.......listen to my coach;)
Best of luck with your training..
