I am pretty sure the answer is NO!! But I'll ask anyway :)
I have an old Toshiba laptop running Windows 98 and it is fitted with a CD Rom drive.
Is there any smart (free!) software that would enable it to play a DVD?
    Don't laugh!!

Nope, DVD requires a totally seperate laser, not possible to find a software solution ;)
