    Hey,

I am looking for a way to export or copy a web-site designed in iWeb from my iMac to my MacBook so that it can still be edited on the laptop. Any methods I have tried just export it as a HTML file that can not be opened in another version of iWeb.

    Any suggestions would be great.

    Cheers

I looked into this a while back and got the following result which not only would let you copy the site, but also to choose different 'Domains' to open. So if you go to your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder, there, should be a file called 'Domain'. Now if you then make a duplicate of that file and rename it, say, 'Domain 2' and then send it to exactly the same location on your Macbook. Now while you have the Domains list window open go up one level and drag the 'iWeb' folder in Application support into your dock, but on the right hand side, where you drop documents to make an alias in the dock. Now when you click on the iWeb file in that section it opens in a grid or a fan and you can then choose the Domain 2 to work on, which would be the copy of the one on your iMac. You can work on this and delete sites in iWeb but obviously don't click the 'Publish Site Changes' in the File menu.

    Hi all,

I am totally new to iWeb and I'm trying to make a simple website. When I publish my website I want people to upload text and a picture. Can this be done on iWeb?

Example of what I want can be seen on Daft.ie or Carzone.ie - on these site people can upload things they are selling, leaving a picture and their phone number.

I hope it can be done but if not, can someone advise how I might be able to proceed?

Again, I'm new to this so please reply using simple language and refrain from technical words such as "multi-part MIME stream." I haven't a clue what that even means.

    Thanks again.

    K

I dont think there is any way of achieving this with iweb .. its aimed at managing small business/personal sites..

Sounds like you need a CMS system like Joomla, Drupal to create your site.

You could although use the iweb HTML site to create your template.

Fire me across a PM if you like, or have a peek in the tech>software and web development forum.

You'd need to be more specific as to what you'd like to achieve though.
