You can get as many fags as you like, providing they are for your own use. Off the top of my head though, i don't think they are much cheaper than the UK (a packet of Marlboro lights is £6 in the UK).

For the train, you want www.nationalrail.co.uk that will give you train times etc, but they are timed to meet the boats.

You can get as many cigarettes as you like because it is not duty free. There is no duty free on ferries on flights within the EU.

They sell the same products but at regular prices. You will still get them cheaper than at your local shop.

Dont expect to save more than 50c - 80c per packet though.

What time is your ferry at?

I done the journey ( holyhead to london via Birmingham ) once a month when I was younger.

If it's the evening ferry, which used to be roughly around 8:45 I think, the train leaves holyhead at 1:50am and it's about a 3hr 30 mins journey to birmingham new street. But it's been almost 11 yrs since I've made the journey so things could have changed since then.

Check out www.networkrail.co.uk and click on timetables on the right hand side for all the info you need with regards to trains.

Starting two threads with the same name doesn't really help anyone.

I'm going to merge it with the other Irish Ferries thread you started.

ferry prices are EXACTLY the same as in the shops so according to these lads 9.40 stg so well over 10 euro.

Thanks but I believe that Ferries are allowed to sell single packs of 20 Duty free on the "high seas" for personal use, and I was wondering what that price is. Might try and pick up a few packs coming and going next week :)

are you sure youre not getting information on ferry crossings from Ireland or UK to France, as in France the full duty paid price is less than Ireland or UK, so represents a saving.
Its still €6 odd per pack, which indicates theres still lots of tax being paid somewhere.

This only applies to ships crew on international voyages (bonded stores). You're paying the high street price I'm afraid. :)

If you want cheap fags, then grab a duffel bag and hop on a Ryanair flight to some advantageous destination on the continent for a fiver and you'd be sorted.

Smokes are around 7.50 per pack, only have about 6 different brands though, you're only allowed to buy 1 pack per person but they let you off with a few, buy 2 packs every time ya go to the bar, also sell them in the shop and restaurant, so 1 round trip of those 3 places a few times and you'll get about 12 packs or so
