Exporting from iWed

Hey, I am looking for a way to export or copy a web-site designed in iWeb from my iMac to my MacBook so that it can still be edited on the laptop. Any methods I have tried just export it as a HTML file that can not be opened in another version of iWeb. Any suggestions would be great
