Oh dear, seems old Plank's been involved in a not inconsiderable fracas with members of Quins at an end of season bash in London. There are also allegations of drug use with players allegedly refusing to provide urine samples after the incident. An interesting conundrum for the RFU, who may regard failure to provide a sample as something of an issue....An unlovely character and no loss to the game on this side of the world...

Hmmm I wonder if they refused to give their urine samples for fear of being tested positive for steroids??? It is off season when they are least likely to be tested and can use the break to put on bulk.

I know steroids dont come up on normal urine samples but did the players know that?

Not quoting the above in case someone might like to delete it, but that's a ridiculous jump and a stupid comment.

    No it's not.

It's far more likely though, that if anything was ingested, whether deliberately or unknowingly was not performance-enhancing but recreational.

I mean the jump from recreational to performance enhancing

it was the day after there last game, wouldnt that be a bit early to be hitting the performance enhancing stuff!!
It doesnt say who asked the players to undergo a drug test? I'd a thought if the police where involved it'd have been compulsory.
If it was the News of the World asking to do a drug test on them......well would you let them do one on you?

I know he's covered in mud, but Plank has not aged well.

Bath asked to do the drugs test but the players refused and have every right to do apperantly. Following the whole Matthew Stevens incident it doesnt look good for the club though.

The report about the drug testing stuff came from News of the World.

    Disregarded.

He's now announced his retirement from the game entirely, even withdrawing from the upcoming Barbarians/England game...dear God, just what went on!! Curious stuff indeed....

He got drunk and started on the Quins team and it was 'taken outside.'

That's the absolute minimum. Was clearly pretty bad.

Four Bath players including Justin Harrison (since retired) Alex Crockett and Michael Lipman have been summoned before an RFU disciplinary committee charged with conduct prejudicial to the reputation of the game and refusing to give a drug sample...

Bath lads got their arses handed to them from what I heard.

Harrison has signed for some club that just got promoted to Pro D2 in france. Fall from grace or what..

Will Skinner (Harlequins captain) knocked the plank out with one punch.

Not suprised, most 2nd rowers would be awful fighters. The bath lads are looking at a fairly length ban it seems, brief read of an article in the Irish times today saying they could get longer then 2years.

So do we know what happened yet?

I'm guessing things of a naughty nature were ingested and then they started on the quins lads?

They were pretty mullered at the time and started on the Quins lads and Skinner being any good captain made sure they'd f*ck off :p

Well, not just that, you could be as strong as an ox but be easy to knock out because of a glass jaw. Also some people are born with the ability to pack a punch. Skinner could be one of these people.
