Just been told I can get summer holidays
Last week of July, 1st week August.
    2 adults, 3 kids.
Looking for the usual, sun and loads to keep the kids occupied.
    Was thinking Spain/Portugal.
It's been a while since I've been away so wondering should I go Travel agents or Book the flights myself and try and book accomodation (Hotel or apartment) on the Net or any other suggestions?
Could go from Belfast if it was way cheaper.
If anybody has any good suggestions for Hotels etc would appreciate it.

I'd recommend you look at a brochure, e.g. Falcon or whatever, and then get a price from a travel agent but also look into booking it yourself too as quite a lot of the time, you can price it cheaper yourself. You'd have to arrange your own airport transfers though.

There's usually free child places too though when booking through a travel agent.

Reckon you're better doing your own thing. Ryanair and Aer Lingus fly direct into Faro in the Algarve so good options on flights. Have been going there for 10 yrs now to a town called Carvoeiro near Portimao. great little village with buckets of great restaurants that are all child friendly. Could probably get a few good deals by checking the websites or picking up the phone and calling some of the places direct. Really nice hotel is The Tivoli Almansor, has stunning views, great pool, nice clientele etc. we went there for six years in a row, other good place is Rocha Brava, brilliant for kids, it's a complex with loads of charactor and facilities just outside the town. Lots of good waterparks, zoomarine/ sand sculpture place for kids.. in saying all that you might do well through the travel agents given current times....

Hi there, as you are very familiar with Carvoeiro, could you give me names of some reasonable restaurants. We are going there in June/July this summer and the kids tend to like burgers and chips. Any help or any tips you can give I would appreciate it. We are staying in Villa Caesarea in Mato Serrao near Monte Santo resort.
