05 Avensis Turbo problem?

    Hi,

I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, but I'm hoping that someone here may be able to point me in the right direction.

I have a T3-S Estate 2l D4D, acc seems very poor. It takes around 20 seconds to roll from 30-60mph in 5th. I've done the usual stuff (filters MAF etc), I've even given it to Mr Toyota and they cleaned the MAF as nothing was showing in the diags. There is very little or no smoke from the engine (I've not seen a could behind me when on full throttle anyway)

I'm thinking the problem may be Turbo related, but I'm not sure. Anyway does anyone have a guide to Turbo removal? or any tests that can be run to identify the fault.

Oh and the Fuel cons is about 43mpg and I'm not 'booting it' either and theres about 130k miles on the clock.

    Thanks in advance.

    Steve

Thanks, I'll give that a go - the only difference is that the engine management light doesn't come on....

The injectors on a D4D can give the same problem slow to take off, they can still be faulty and read good on the diagnostics. The turbo actuator can be checked on diagnostics by toyota, Is your fuel quality good? a loose or disconnected vacnum pipe can cause the same problem and not trigger a fault code.
