Poker Straight Hair

My hair is long and naturally straight. Not even a little kink in it.

It really frustrates me and always looks the same. If I try curl it it falls out almot instantly unless I spray half a bottle of hairspray in it and then it is rock hard.

I blow-dry it sometimes and try my best to give it some volume and it doesn't work.

Any tips? Products (that wont ruin my hair)......

I have the same type of hair as you.

I haven't figured out how to curl it without a ridiculous amount of hairspray either but I can get some volume into by just drying my hair upside down. No idea if it's bad for your hair but it gives it a bit of life for a few hours at least!

I have this exact problem and got advice on another forum by a guy who really knows his hair.

I did it, it works, my hair looked fab.
Or instead of having to try a new shampoo/conditioning process, you could just get a really good mousse. I recommend http://www.tresemme.com/volume/products/we...ody-mousse.aspx

You'd put the mouse in your hair, and comb through after showering when hair is still damp. Wrap in a towel, loosely. Then, on a low-heat setting, flip hair forward and blow dry in sections.

    hope it helps!

Started using that mousse recently as it's on offer in Boots, and it's fab! I can get lovely body and lift, I usually blow dry upside down for a little bit more lift too. The only other way to give volume is to give myself a massive quiff, with massive amounts of hairspray and a little backcombing, sometimes I GHD the roots straight up :) , the next day my hair is a little mad at the roots, but I can tease it out and I have wavey hair then :) Other thing is to dampen hair, work mousse though it, plait it in large plaits and then hairspray over it, go to sleep, and you should have wavy hair in the morning.

Also, after using the mousse, if you still find to be lacking in the volume dept, try back combing at the roots, nothing too mad but I find it gives my hair a nice lift as its quite silky so sometimes can be a bit limp.
