Heat recovery Ventilitation and Dryers??

    Hey all,

Just have a question about a heat recovery ventilation system.

We are almost finished constructing our house and we have a HRV system being fitted as I type...

I know that the vent from the extractor fan in the kitchen is being connected to it, I 'm just wondering about our dryer. We are planning on getting an electrical dryer in our house and I am wondering should this be connected directly to the HRV system or would there just be a wet point or intake in the room that the dryer is in??

    Cheers
    L:)

I don't think connecting the extractor vent to the HRV is a good idea, for a start the extractor will be blowing into the HRV unit instead of the HRV extracting itself, this could lead to weird effects inside the unit.
Secondly but more importantly the oil and grease mist that goes through the cooker filter will end up in your HRV filter, NOT GOOD.

There should be an extract in the Utility and Kitchen but they should not be connected to the HRV unit, they should stand alone.
    What make is the HRV?
