i-touch bricked

    my sons i-touch went dead yesterday.symbol "usb-> itunes" is howing up on the screen.
    When we got to reset/reboot itis coming up with error 6.
    Any clues or is it just send it back to apple.

    Use a different USB port on your computer and try the iPod in DFU Mode instead. Link!

    tried a diff usb cable on same pc.Rtied both cables on a diff pc.Nada.Will have a look at the link.

    tried everything on the apple support page and still nada.
    BTW what is DFU?
