How to change file upload size in wordpress

trying to import a wordpress xml backup from a previous blog, but i have 2mb limit on the import/upload size, can anyone tell me how to increase it

supposed to use ini_set()

but not sure where to it, use it or how

can't use php.ini or .htaccess to override it.

had to change server when renewing account now blackknight won't give me access to my own files.

blacknight won't give me anymore help with it, which i can understand but seeing as im having these difficutlies because i was forced to change server on renewal, i thought they might give an extra bit of help, but no, they also refuse to give me access to my files.

Blacknight do allow you to edit the application vault installs... what exactly is your issue. If you have/had a ticket open let me know what it is and I'll see can I get someone to help you.

its not their job to help me with these issues, is it, they've pointed me towards using ini_set() but i don' know how to so i've come on here to ask, im moved to windows system on shared hosting and they won't allow me edit the wordpress blog files from the directory if i install it via the applications vault, so im giving up on that and have installed it myself.

my issue im asking about on here is how to increase the upload file size.

after asking 4 or 5 times they at last gave me access to my files on the vault app installs, files that i had been editing myself in my previous unix account, but the file size issue remains i don't want to bother the support team with these questions, cos im a newb and will probably need my hand held in fixing it, i had thought that the problem was with something else i wasn't being giving access to, but the support person told me to go look it up myself... i emailed them back another questions after spending a few hours trying things, i'd had been trying to use .htaccess and php.ini which is what a lot of the forums tell you do, but obviously thats wrong, again they told me to go look it up myself, so here i am asking the boards.

i mean i've seen the advice to add
ini_set('upload_max_filesize','10M');
ini_set('post_max_size','15M');

but im not sure where to put it, they say put it just before where it will be used but i can't find that, the file that are used on import page are import.php admim.php and wordpress.php,

somewhere else it tells me to put it in its own php and just put it in plugin directory and try to activate it,that doesn't work either

You're better off asking Blacknight to mod the server limits. They should all be set to some sane amount.

i.e. not 2MB, if they are chances are it's a new server with a default config and changes are necessary ...

i asked them and they told me to look it up myself.

i'vev been told by 3 different support people that app vault install aren't meant to messed with and that they won't support me and go look it up myself.
