Aertel garbled on Sky+ - reboot not fixing it...

A relative of mine is having issues with Aertel/teletext on his Sky+ box. The text is garbled (although clearly *some* of it is getting through/displayed). Most forum advice that I've found suggests that a restart of the box will fix this problem. In his case it does not (after numerous tries). Also noteworthy is that the same TV, with the same scart cable is able to display Aertel perfectly when connected to his (normal) Sky box (he has multiroom so was able to test with that). Teletext works absolutely fine on my own Sky+ box (Amstrad A2P0524 Version 4F2117) and the only difference I can discern is that his has a slightly different 'Version' (not 4F2117 like mine but only one digit different at the end). The OS versions are the same on mine and his also.

Is this just a known issue with some boxes and are Sky likely to replace the Sky+ box (and has anyone any experience of this problem being fixed by a replacement box)? He is well within warranty by the way, so cost (I'm guessing) wouldn't come into it.
