Anyone using an ATA with mobile broadband?

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is using an ATA with their mobile broadband in order to get VOIP service via blueface or similar? i.e. connect mobile BB to Dovado UMR, and then connect a suitable ATA to the router...

Understand latency would be an issue etc, just wondering if anyone has actually tried it?
    Cheers.

Incoming calls are a problem, unless there is Presence holding open connection.

Even outgoing may only work well for 25% of users.

It's not just the latency but
    Jitter
    packet loss
    500:1 speed variation
    dropped sessions
    Operator NAT and shared IPs
    Not an always on connection
May not connect if traffic high.

I use Diovado UMR, Linksys ATA and Blueface in place of landline - works perfectly about 99% otf the time.
