Ordered some food yesterday evening & got it delivered down to my place of work (5mins away). Ordered 3 fries, 2 portion of nuggets, 1 chip butty and two 1/4 pounders with cheese. Came to €31.50. I was shocked. Rang them up complaining and asked for the break down of what they charged me as I didn't have a menu on me. €3.60 for 1 portion of tiny, soggy nuggets (5 nuggets in all), chips were also soggy on arrival and cost €3.80 each. Never will I order food from there again. Most other take-aways in the town (Dundalk) are cheaper and tastier. Very disappointed with Abrakebabra.

That's a disgrace for the price of a bag of chips. They've a sign up saying if you buy a 1/4 pounder with cheese you get one free but the offer doesn't stand for delivery. Scabs

Normal chips in abras are cheaper than that, were they topped with something? e.g. taco chips. I would use the word "chips" loosely, abras have the worst chips of any takeaway I have ever been in, taste like what I imagine tesco value chips are like.

The rest differs from franchise to franchise, so do not paint them all as being bad. Best thing IMO is the chicken fillet baguette, where you can see them cutting up a fresh chicken breast in front of you and put on peppers.

And you say you were in work, so I presume you made the big mistake of eating abras sober ;)

Also most chipper food does not "travel" well, I would stick with stuff that would be OK left in wrappers for 30mins, chips & burgers are a no-no, kebabs are a better bet. This is why few chippers do deliveries, while most chinese food is ideal for delivery.

    Eating there sober. Instant fail!

I used to always eat in the K-bab K-lub in Fairview after my weekly visits to Barcode way back when. Then one day I went for a quick meal before training, at around 6ish. I never had the stomach to eat there afterwards - sober or hammered. Different kettle of fish seeing whats in a donor kebab.

Pitta bread, Lettuce and cabbage, chilli & tomato and onion & garlic sauce, and the kebab meat (which you only see being cooked now raw etc). That turned your stomach? (At least that what they put in the abra-kebab)

I have to say i'd rather a meal , where you can see the food being prepared than the mcdonalds etc. way of handing you a box with your food in it.

Have to agree thair chip are quite crap tho.

Actually they have some meal deal which I was pleasantly surprised about. But their food is not exactly pleasant. Felt like I'd eaten straight grease afterwards
