Inspirational Speakers for Entrepreneurs

    Hi Guys

I wanted to ask your opinions on who you might think would be good inspirational speakers at the moment? I mean people with great conviction who will leave you positive and ready to tackle a recession!

Im tired of going to ridiculously expensive conferences listening to people speak who to be honest are not very inspiring at all. Plus nobody seems to want to talk about solutions at the moment, they just want to dwell on the negative!! And there is nothing out there for the smaller business oir perhaps the entrepreneur looking to set up a new company!

Just wondered if any of you have been to an event recently or know of any truly inspirational Irish speakers???

    All suggestion are welcome

    Thanks so much

    GE

GE I agree with you totally. Although Michael O Leary & Denis O Brien et al are fantastic entrepreneurs , the reality for most entrepreneurs is that they will never be multi millionaires. However, they can make a good living for themselves ,possibly accumulate a small amount of wealth and in the process create much needed jobs.

Most budding & emerging Entrepreneurs would learn more listening to the experiences of owners of small & medium sized business owners rather than the guys who have made billions. The Enterprise boards should really step into the breach here and run these type of conferences. I know that the women in business network have done this in the past and it is far more rewarding than listening to some of the stories I have heard at conferences

Nova UCD do free enterprise talks which i've always found quite good in the past, always Irish speakers.

Like yourself i find conferences way too time consuming. On the international side - The best resource in my opinion for international has to be TED Theres a collection of the greatest speakers in the world on every topic that is important.

I also think youtube can be a great resource for talks from authors and speakers like Seth Godin etc. Colm Lyons from Realex is a great speaker worth checking out if you have a chance.

I particularly like Bill Bartmann. Once you get over hearing about his early problems (which he always seems to pipe) he actually has some very good things to say, IMO of course.

+1 that one. It was great coming out of that, the guy who did daft.ie also did one, that was very interesting too!

Niall farrel is it?black tie owner? I think he would be a good speaker, seems very open and From what i remember anytime he dealt with young people in the den he was very encouraging no matter the outcome.

Guy Kawasaki and Seth Godin are really good. Search for them on YouTube.
David Heinemeier Hansson is also worth a watch.
