What size was the alien workshop board? I went from a 7.8(i think) up to an 8 and it actually was worse.. I was use to skating skinny boards for nearly 9 years and then I went to one a tiny bit bigger and I just cant skate it now.. had to go back to the skinnys :p

Just a thought you should have..

Saying that I would go for the girl board myself!

Skated a few slave decks lately and i've been really into them.

The Plan B decks are mad poppy and pretty nice.
Girl decks i use to love but i've gone off them lately, they seem to be slipping a little, quite the same way that Alien Workshop have really let themself go.
Mine lasted me two weeks like, and my mate had one that lasted him about 3. They're definitely doing something wrong.

    Also like these.

If your going anything over an 8" you might need wider trucks to balance it out like, mine were small on my 8" and it looked really weird :pac:

yeah, dont think im gonna go with the 8.00" now so, gonna go with maybe a 7.75, its a bit bigger than my Aw but no too much so i can sorta build up bigger and bigger til i feel comfortable with the size

8" in generally the nicest size for people with bigger feet, 8.25 is just mental and feels like arse, so I'd stay away from that

The AW decks have like hardly any concave, the girls are pretty much on par with them.
Girl are better, but not much better.

I haven't touched a skateboard in about three years, I can't remember how wide my last deck was. What's the average board width for starting out fresh? 7.75? I wear size 10 shoes ;)

    :p

7.75" to 8" would be perfect, i wear size tens myself and i use an 8".

definitely nothing wrong with riding a girl board, sometimes the graffix are a better too (although they can also be much, much worse, too!)
