I've been referred for an x-ray to local hospital by my GP. He says they are "funny" about x-rays and that you must be between day 1 and 10 of your period. He says it is to ensure you are not pregnant.
Now I don't want to wait and told him so - and have lied about dates to get x ray this week.
Is there any other reason apart from pregnancy that they are insistant on this? I am not pregnant and know this 100% for a fact!
    Thanks in advance.
PS I also asked Dr. would they "check" and he said no! :D

Lesbian virgin nuns are pregnant until proven otherwise.

Most radiology departments I've worked in are happy with a urine test called "Beta HCG" which is pretty sensitive for pregnancy. Perhaps it's different for GP requests as some departments might see those as less urgent than A&E, inpatient referrals.

I do think it's a bit unfair to lie about dates to the radiographer. They have a duty of care and the only reason they are funny about dates and urine tests is because they are trying to ensure that no unborn child or foetus is exposed to unnessescary radiation.

This is definitely something we shouldn't be getting involved in!
