    Once they didn't destroy a good car (it was knackered) and they didn't weld the sections back together in the flat (zip-ties, thank god), it's a brilliant practical joke.

    Similar scenario:

    My dad's first car was an Austin Seven Chummy (he's in his late seventies today), and for fun, his work-mates folded the roof down and unscrewed the windscreen and carried it on its side into the dining room/boardroom of the large house/office where they worked and set it up on the boardroom table and reattached the windscreen. Unfortunately, no photos survive, but apparently he took it well, and was still able to drive it home that evening!

    similar thing happened a neighbour of mine, except in his case it was a silage harvester (like the one below), and they welded it back together in the house (stank the place out)
