How to Fix a Phillips 32" c-ray tv

    My tv has died on me, the symptoms b4 death where as follows, about a year ago when I switched the tv on it would switch its self off after a second or two and it would repeat this two or three times b4 it would stay on, this gradually got worse to the point where I would have to keep switching it on about 10 times b4 it would work, now it just won't work, do you know what is wrong with it and is it easily fixed, Thankx

    sounds like a capacitor problem to me. This is the thing that "charges" up to start the CRT when you press the button.
    You'd need to have the capacitor replaced by a professional.

    i had the exact same problem with not one, but two Philips 32inch CRTs!

    Got one fixed recently and it was the cap. costs about €40 to replace by any good appliance repairer.
