"No Satellite Signal Being Received":Next Step?

    Hi all,

Frequent reader, infrequent poster here :)

I have just moved to a new house and want to get free-to-air channels via a Sky Digibox (may subscribe to pay channels later)

I do not have a phone line connected to the digibox.

The dish (Grundig 23 inch with Grundig LNB) is already mounted (and was working up to 5 months ago for the previous resident)

The Sky box is an old model: (probably a dinosaur)

PACE ( Model Number: 1.0.54, Version No. 9F0801, Operating System Version: 1.2S4F1 )

I have linked up the Sky Digibox and received the message "No Satellite Signal Being Received"

    Three / Four questions:

    1. Is the Digibox I have too old to receive correct signal ??

    2. How can I test the LNB to see if it is working properly?

    3. What is the easiest way for me to check if the Satellite alignment is correct?

I hope to do any adjustments etc. myself (time rich / cash poor at the moment :) )

    Any advice greatly appreciated :)

    Regards,
    redraider

    Hi.

Firstly that Pace box, going by the Version Number, sounds like it is a 2500 model. These had a well known problem with tuners failing, resulting in a "no satellite signal" message.

Is there anyone who you could get the loan of a box from, just to test if the dish is working?

If you consider signing up to Sky, I suggest you sign up as a new customer to get a new free digibox.
