    Was it any good?

It was good yeah - the one bad thing (As someone picked up) was that they have only €12m going towards the plan in year 1, with an expected total cost of the implementation of the plan being around €2.3bn. But the guys behind it are very enthusiastic about what can be done, so that was good to see.

It was pretty good. The fella giving the talk seemed very enthusiastic and everyone seemed to agree that the document he was presenting was very good.

The talk itself was a little civil-servanty, it was heavy on talk about getting cooperation from different stakeholders and a bit light on specifics. We'll have to wait a year or so to see what gets implemented.

There was one bit I found funny. The speaker was asked about sweeping cycle lanes. He answered that the on-road lanes are swept and the off-road ones aren't but they're getting a new machine which might be able to sweep them. I got the impression myself that the problem with the off-road lanes is that they're not accessible to wheeled vehicles but I decided not to say anything.

Just on the very unlikely scenario that anyone is still interested, I noticed today that the recording from the lecture has been uploaded:

    https://engineersireland.webex.com/mw0302l/mywebex/default.do?siteurl=engineersireland

(Click on the top right the 'View Events Recordings' and then go down to the 20th May 2009).

Sorry, was meant to be 'View Event Recordings' that you click on instead of the other one. Long day in work.
