    Who was the "J" or "Jay" that was commentating for RTE yesterday? Was it Jay Haas?

    Pretty sure it wasnt Jay Haas. I think he is still playing the Champions tour in the States. It was a commentator who works for the European tour world feed which was tapped into by RTE. This feed is sold around the world to places where SKY do not broadcast. The european tour coverage on the Golf Channel in the US is taken from this Feed.

    He does a bit of commentary for RTE/BBC also at times

    Yea, Jay Townsend. Frankly imo, I found him and moreso his voice, to be irritating. Watched most of the coverage on Sky because of this. Townsend sounds cheesy American and also is a OTT patronising.

    I don't know who it was as I didn't hear him.

    Jay Townsend - journeyman pro from 80s/90s, played mainly in Europe. As mentioned, works for Setanta as pundit/analyst on their pga tour coverage.
