20 Man Utd 37 16 2 1 43 13 11 4 3 24 11 43 87Its been a great season so far and its all come down to the last game, well two games for Sunderland and Portsmouth.

At one stage this season Tottenham Hotspur and Blackburn Rovers looked odds on to make the Championship League but Juande Ramos and Paul Ince both left their clubs and replacements Harry Redknapp and Sam Allardyce could not guide their clubs to the big league(24 teams).

So tomorrow night sees Sunderland go into action against Portsmouth and anything but defeat will ensure they don't qualify for the Championship. However a loss tomorrow night and they would be right in the hunt as they face Chelsea in their last game and their goal difference is expected to suffer in that game.
Hull and manager Phil Brown fooled us all with their early season form and they seemed certain to remain at the bottom but Brown kept them all on the pitch one evening and ever since then the Hull maestro has guided his team purposefully towards the Championship. Facing guaranteed bottom of the table Manchester United it seems certain that they will not gain any more points and their goal difference which is pretty poor at the moment looks like getting worse there.
Alan Shearer seemed to be doing a fine job on Newcastle for the first few weeks but of late he can't seem to hold them together and even with Joey Barton helping the cause by getting banned for the last three games there is still the possibility that they could miss out. A draw against the out of form Aston Villa looks like it could be enough to spell disaster as they have a superior goal difference to Hull.
Middlesboro look certain to qualify for the Championship League(CL) and Gareth Soutgate has to be given all the credit for guiding his club to the big league. Chairman Steve Gibson would have to take a lot of credit too for having such patience with his manager and allowing him to get his team in position for honours.
However no doubt about it West Bromwich Albion just know how to do it. Every time they appear in the Premiership they seem to take the honours. Another magnificent year for them and the big league awaits, the only question is will they go there as Champions. The bookies won't give any odds on this, it seems like a formality with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park being a handy 0 pointer for them in my opinion.

Its been another exciting year, albeit the bottom of the league was quite boring with it really never being in doubt from the halfway mark as to who would finish bottom and the same four finishing at the bottom as per usual although Aston Villa's dismal form early in the season gave Arsenal hope of escaping this year.
