If I am claiming Jobseekers Benefit and have all the forms filled out and proper documentation with me, can the application be accepted on the day I go into the dole office? Or will I be asked to return again for an appointment?

Reason I ask is that that's what I have been told, i.e. I go in, get the forms and then an appointment is made for the following week to come back. Can I not just apply on the first day?!

It depends on your office. Some offices are running an appointment system, others you take a ticket and queue on the day.
