There's an event on in Kilbeggan next Sunday organised by the MAAC (Midlands American Automobile Club). It's a very central and accessible location and the MAAC always have very well organised events. This one is open to all classic and vintage vehicles as opposed to 'The Big One' in September that is American Only (Biggest Show in Ireland for American Vehicles). I'll defo be taking this one in!

Pity all these shows are on the same day.ie Limerick,Youghal and Mayo.
Is there any way show organisers would talk to each other and make sure they don't clash or are they in competition with each other.
I now have to make the choice between Youghal and Limerick but would love to go to both.:(

    +1

Completely pointless having 4 or more big shows on one date. I'll be going to Limerick anyway.

Yes, I would love to know the logic behind having several shows on the same day. It's not as though there are all that many to choose from and if they were staggered I'm sure they'd all get a decent attendance from the petrol heads and die hard fans! Dont they communicate with each other??

The show in Limerick is on a week earlier than usual this year, hopefully they''ll revert back to the old date next year.

Same with this show, it was supposed to be the 31st but had to be moved as there is Horse racing on.

I thought all right i'd seen this show advertised for the 31st earlier in the year.

The problem is that there's so many shows on now around the country that its impossible to find a day when there's not something else on that clashes. Clubs would keep an eye out for shows on relatively close to their own but in fairness Limerick, Youghal and mayo are all a long way from Kilbeggan, and from each other, so they probably wouldn't be considered in direct competition to each other.

Limerick gets my vote this time around.
I like the sound of a hard surface and won't have to bring the wellies.

Kilbeggan is one of the better 'field' venues though. I'v been a few times and can't recall it ever being really muddy or cars getting stuck on the way in or out.

Limerick was moved to the UniGolf car park in Castletroy AFAIK.

I'm going to Kilbeggan, it was a great day out last year, so once the weather is good I'll be there!

I'll be there too! Should be the guts of twenty cars from our club alone.

Great day out lads! Huge representation of yank tanks as you would always expect from an MAAC event. Very well organised as always. Got loads of pics, you can find them here:

Weather was fantastic too, got me truckers arm (on da left!) Was two big tank diesel engines up behind us that were putting out something like 850bhp a piece. Damn loud machines, and sounded cool, even though they were running the grunge!
