trying to sell car, cant get an NCT!

    hi,

    im trying to sell my car but i can't get an NCT till at least Sept. What should i do? try to sell it cheaply to someone who will have to NCT it themselves?

    Keep trying the NCTS, I got one within three weeks very recently.

    Are you saying that you cant get an appointment till sept ?
    Surley the wait cant be that long ?
    On second thought's, i would'nt be surprised:D

    yeah was just on the website, it went as far as the end of Aug, then wouldnt let me continue anymore, that was for both Deangrange and Fonthill...are there only two centres in dublin?

    Ring them rather than using the online system. I had my NCT in Deansgrange last week, after a wait of less than 3 weeks.

    Best thing to do is get up and ring them after 8am. All cancellations from the previous day don't get logged in until the overnight period. So you will be more likely to get one if you ring early in the morning. Worked for me as online there was only August but when i rang in i got one for early June.

    pick one of the NCT centres just outside Dublin, like Port Laoise or similar.
    only an hours drive and alot less waiting times.

    The best way is to accept whatever they give you and then check constantly online and change it for a sooner appointment.

    Ring them just before 8PM (7:45PM) and also ring them just after 8:00AM in the morning for best chances at a cancellation. 1890 412 413...
